UBS convention sees Johnny Herbert discuss the similarities between racing and banking
Champions Celerity client Johnny Herbert Appeared at the lavish Villa Sarasin in Geneva yesterday to give a fascinating insight into his career in motorsport and its parallels with the banking world at the Union Bank of Switzerland’s (UBS) convention at Palexpo’s Le Grand-Saconnex complex.
The former Formula 1 star and British grand prix champion discussed his experiences at the highest level of motor sport in front of delegates from all over Europe. With banks in over 50 countries worldwide, Johnny was able to share his expert opinion on the current issues surrounding the Formula 1 sport as a whole as well as how the qualities required in motor racing are similar to those needed to be successful in the financial sector.
Johnny was then joined on stage by UBS’ Wealth Management expert Rolf Ganter. Rolf is also an automotive specialist and passionate about all things motor racing and applied his expertise to the tricky finance of Formula 1.
Alongside Rolf, Johnny was able to transfer the skills he learned throughout his motorsport career and apply them to a banking and business environment. As well as his world famous Formula 1 career, Johnny was able to reflect upon some of his other highlights from over a decade in the sport. This included his famous victory in the prestigious 24 hours of Le Mans race, which is considered to be the toughest endurance race on the planet.
